Meet Anna

I am an attorney, a proud Vermonter, and an advocate for everyday people.

Born and raised in Rutland, Vermont, I graduated from Rutland High School, and studied political science and Environmental Studies at UVM. After graduating from Lewis & Clark Law School, I was able to share my love and appreciation for the outdoors by leading students on adventure and community service trips across the U.S. and around the world. Spending time in nature influenced my commitment to environmental protection here in Vermont.

Working on behalf of regular folks is part of my daily life. I am currently an attorney for the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, working to assist Afghans who risked their lives to serve the United States military. Navigating the immigration system and various departments of government on behalf of my clients, I am even more convinced that everyday Vermonters need an advocate in their local and state government, working on their behalf every single day.

As a ski patroller and ski instructor at Killington Resort, my understanding of Vermont business and the tourism industry will inform my policies to ensure that Vermont businesses that depend on tourism flourish. We must support our local businesses and find ways to increase high quality job opportunities.

I was elected to the Rutland City Board of Aldermen in March 2022 and have enjoyed serving my city. I have advocated for greater access to public transportation, safer pedestrian areas, and greater transparency and accountability from my public officials. I am excited to do more to serve my community, and my state, and I am ready to fight for Rutland District 4 as a Representative.

Platform

Child Care

Every family in Vermont deserves support in raising healthy and happy kids. Every child should have access to affordable high-quality early childhood education and child care before and after school. Vermont has already provided access to publicly funded prekindergarten education for Vermont students but we can do more for our families. We can ensure every Vermonter has access to affordable year round child care. We must pay child care workers a livable wage commensurate with their credentials.

Affordable Housing

As housing prices rise and homeownership becomes a distant dream for Vermonters, we must act to ensure that Vermonters have access to high quality affordable housing for both renters and homeowners. We can work on solutions such as building new affordable housing, renovating existing housing stock, addressing unjust evictions, and creating regulations to promote more housing. We can find a way to house everyone in Vermont.

Education

Education is essential to setting our next generation up for success. We can provide a strong public education system for Vermont’s youth that includes strong vocational training and career placement opportunities. We can expand access to affordable higher education to drive economic prosperity in our state.

Climate Change

Climate change affects us all. Every summer is hotter than the last and this impacts our health, our food systems, and our economy. We need to prepare for increased storm frequency and for more dramatic changes in weather patterns. We can provide subsidies for people to weatherize and insulate their homes which will help prevent further greenhouse gas emissions and will help people save on their heating bills in the winter.

Elder Care

Rutland County has an aging population. We need a plan to care for our elderly neighbors and ensure they are well supported especially given the isolation we all faced during COVID. We can support our senior citizens to stay in their homes for as long as possible and assist them in accessing the services they need. We must fight to ensure prescription costs are low and affordable so that our seniors can access medicine they need.
